Llanos
Expedition
to The Llanos - 4 Days / 3 Nights.
Day
1
In the morning we will visit the highlands of the Andes, lakes,
forests, and waterfalls. In the afternoon we will begin the
activities, a hike and white water rafting. We will spend the
first night in beds in one of our beautiful camps.
Day 2
In the morning: Safari in the high Los Llanos, observing different
types of wildlife, especially the red howler monkey. We will
finish up the morning safari and move to our other camp in the
low Los Llanos (Observation: different types of birds, reptiles
and mammals). Arrive at the camp and in the afternoon head out
for a boat ride in the Guaritico river (National Reservoir of
fauna) to observe freshwater dolphins, caimans, piranhas, and
various birds of the area. We will sleep in hammocks.
Day 3
In the morning: Horseback riding (Observation: anteaters and
capybaras) for four hours in the llanos planes. In the afternoon:
search for anacondas and caimans. Night: Llanera party, traditional
Venezuelan folklore.
Day 4
In the morning: Leave our camp, bathe in a waterfall in Altamira
and return to Merida.
